She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Amanda’s integrated approach includes Strength-Based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals and couples, and the Gottman Method Levels 1 & 2. Amanda’s primary focus is on establishing a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic alliance. This environment allows you to explore your inner thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear. She works with adult clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and communication issues, stress, burnout and life transitions. Amanda will guide you through steps to achieve your goals, understanding your emotions and making cognitive and behavioural changes. Her passion lies in helping clients understand themselves and how they show up in relationships and providing tools to effectively navigate relationship issues and learn new coping skills. Her objective is for clients to leave each session with renewed hope. In relationship therapy, Amanda's approach is to help couples unpack their attachment styles and learn adaptive ways of coping. This process creates emotional safety within the relationship. Other core aspects of couples’ work include building intimacy, understanding, and empathy. You will learn active listening, healthy communication styles, conflict management, and repair of emotional injury and attachment trauma.
